Join us for the launch evening of the new Corridor8 publication commissioned in partnership with Humber Street Gallery. This evening celebration marks the continued evolution of Corridor8’s development as a platform for contemporary art and writing in the North of England, and the continuation of our recently established Writer-in Residence programme alongside our regional partners.
Developed in response to Humber Street Gallery’s 2017 exhibition Hull, Portrait of a City and the wider Substance programme, this limited-edition publication, titled ‘Occasional Residents’, includes contributions by established art writer Jamie Sutcliffe, artist-writer Claire Potter, and Writer-in-Residence at Humber Street Gallery, Devon Forrester-Jones. Produced in collaboration with the multidisciplinary design collective, dust, each copy contains a limited edition insert by artist Lee Karen Stow
Acting as the culmination of the Autumn 2018 Corridor8 Writer’s Residency hosted at Humber Street Gallery, the publication exists as a lasting document to contextualise the legacy of Hull City of Culture, and provide a platform to show the professional development of resident Devon Forrester-Jones alongside exploring wider thematic issues raised by the exhibition itself.
The event will follow on from our Art Writing Workshop and provide an opportunity to meet the featured writers and purchase one of the 150 limited edition publications at a special price, alongside meeting staff from Corridor8, and Humber Street Gallery.
The Autumn 2017 Corridor8 Writer’s Residency is supported by Arts Council England and our regional partners Humber Street Gallery.
