Corridor8 invites you to join our current residency partners Castlefield Gallery and The International 3 on 11 June for a pair of closing events to mark the end of the current Andrew McDonald exhibition.

From 2 – 4pm Andrew McDonald will be In Conversation with Dr Michael Birchall at Castlefield Gallery to talk about the artist’s practice and the themes present within his current exhibition. Free tickets for this event can be booked here.

Following the In Conversation event from 4 – 6pm visitors are invited to join the current Corridor8 Writer in Residence based at Castlefield Gallery, Iris Priest, for a drop-in critical discussion of the work produced throughout her residency and the work on display in the exhibition.

The intimate public event will draw to a close McDonald’s solo exhibition with an open and informal discussion for visitors. It will act as an opportunity for anyone to share observations and develop a discursive exploration of the exhibition alongside the resident. Acting as mediator, Priest will draw directly from her own ideas and observations produced during her time in residence to help critically question the work of McDonald and the public response to it before producing a piece of text relating to the exhibition in the coming weeks to be published in an upcoming limited edition Corridor8 publication later this summer.

Free and open to everyone both events are an opportunity for questions to be asked and knowledge shared, drawing to a close both Priest’s time in residence and McDonald’s solo exhibition.

Based at Castlefield Gallery, location and access information for both events can be found here.
