Occasional Residents: Art Writing Workshop

*This event has been postponed until early 2018 – watch this space!*

Humber Street Gallery, 64 Humber St, Hull HU1 1TU

Organised in partnership with Humber Street Gallery, this discursive event will explore the practicalities of art writing in organisational and collaborative settings, with presentations by established writer Jamie Sutcliffe, artist-writer Claire Potter and Corridor8’s current Writer-in-Residence, Devon Forrester-Jones.

A panel discussion and Q&A will cover a number of topics crucial to having work published in the art world, such as identifying different categories and styles of art writing, and deploying research, interpretation and experimentation within particular contexts.

A range of publications will be available to browse and purchase (some at discounted rates), and attendees are encouraged to bring along examples of their own work. Writers and artists at any stage of career are welcome, and there will be opportunities to meet other writers and creative professionals throughout the afternoon.

Tickets £6.40, including refreshments.
Please address further questions or requests to Rebecca Senior at rs@corridor8.co.uk. More information about Humber Street can be found here.
This event is funded by Arts Council England.
Please note that Humber Street Gallery is a wheelchair accessible space, and that tickets for this event are non-refundable.
