Aggregating — 22 February 2018, a performance by Fritha Jenkins
Leeds Arts University Gallery (Blenheim Walk), Thursday 29 March 2018, 5-7pm
This event will mark the closing of Aggregate: Fritha Jenkins and Edna Lumb at Leeds Arts University Gallery and the launch of our latest collaborative publication, working with designers dust. The experimental exhibition aims to reactivate Lumb’s industrial landscapes of the 1960s and 70s through Jenkins’ archival imagination, which manifests in sculpture, video and performance investigations. The publication showcases a new writing commission by artist and sociologist Nina Wakeford (Royal College of Art), ‘The Northern Line’, based on an interview with a female engineer. The piece is a tribute to Lumb’s achievements and was produced in correspondence with Jenkins’ creative approach.
Printed copies of the publication will be available for free at the launch, including a limited-edition insert by Jenkins.
