The Tetley, Leeds LS10 1JQ
Join us for a double launch of Corridor8’s freshly redesigned website, and a new publication developed at The Tetley during a writing residency in Autumn 2016. This afternoon celebration marks a new phase of Corridor8’s development as a platform for contemporary art and writing in the North of England, and the conclusion of our inaugural writer-in residence project.
Developed in response to The Tetley’s Summer 2016 exhibition programme (Jonathan Trayte: Polyculture and Stass Paraskos: Lovers and Romances), this limited-edition publication, provocatively titled RIPE, includes contributions by established art writers Sally O’Reilly and Colin Perry, the infamous food critic M. Bonsers, and writer-in-residence at The Tetley, Abi Mitchell. Produced in collaboration with the multidisciplinary design collective, Studio Dust, each copy contains a bespoke insert by artist Jonathan Trayte.
Corridor8’s new website, developed by graphic design studio SB-PH, has a bold new design, improved interactivity and a number of new features including an opportunities section and a residency showcase page. It reflects the platform’s commitment to supporting writers and cultivating critical and creative dialogue around contemporary art in the North.
The launch event will provide an opportunity to mingle with participating writers and purchase one of the 150 limited edition publications at a special price. Refreshments will be provided while supplies last.
