Call for Proposals
Corridor8 invites proposals for a series of art writing commissions that will be showcased on its newly relaunched website in 2017. Each writer will receive a fee of £200 to produce a 1,200-word piece that responds critically and/or creatively to contemporary visual arts in the North of England. Corridor8 is looking for emerging and established writers based in Northern regions that are interested in exploring links between art and wider issues and themes, whether contemporary or historical. Proposals can be specific to a Northern-based artist, city or region, or address pan-regional phenomena, and can traverse different genres such as speculative fiction or sci-fi. Contextual or research-based pieces are also very welcome, particularly those that engage with the complexities of the current political climate as reflected and refracted through contemporary art.
Please send proposals (‘pitches’) of no more than 200 words and a CV to Lara Eggleton by 5pm on Friday 16 December.
