We’re once again joining together with our friends The Double Negative and Creative Tourist, to host an evening where prospective writers and any interested parties can meet us and each other, and find out about our publications.
Our first meeting was in Liverpool last August and our next is in Manchester, on Thursday 13 March, 6pm-9pm. It is informal and it’s open to all, whether you already write for us or are just thinking about it. It’s at Common in the Northern Quarter where there is a pay bar. Plus there’s the chance to find out more about Creative Tourist, The Double Negative and Corridor8, the kinds of things we do and don’t publish (we’re all quite different publications), and an opportunity to talk to us about any ideas you have.
While we’re keen to meet new and regular contributors, there is another reason we run these joint shindigs every six months: we want to foster the writing community in the north. To support those whose chosen career or hobby of choice is by its nature quite an isolating and lonely activity. So alongside finding out about us as publications, this meet and greet is also an opportunity for you to network with like-minded writers, and with the other publications we have invited along – Tusk, Manchester Wire, The Skinny and Northern Soul. And surely that’s something we all, as writers and bloggers, appreciate now and again.
Let us know you’re coming by registering here.
